The raw material used to create the paper in these collages was sourced from plants in my yard and neighborhood. 

Quiet Places

I created the paper for these collage pieces using fall cuttings from my gardens, along with a few contributions from friends' gardens. I am fascinated by the historical meanings associated with many common plants. These meanings inspired my new work. 

 

Iris: Wisdom, Hope, Trust, Valor, New Beginnings, Positive Change​

Rhubarb: Protection, Passion, Fertility, Bitterness, Resistance

​Indigo: Intuition, Spirituality, Mystery, Harmony, Wisdom, Creativity

Grasses: Generosity, Togetherness, Longevity, Shield, Privacy, Resilience

Hollyhock: Ambition, Abundance, Life Cycles, Endurance, Strength
